You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello (Hello, Hello)

After a year and a 50 % of (virtually) working I find it bittersweet to say that this is my last blog post with you, our followers. Today is my last time at USC. Sharing my voice through your blog has been such a fun learning experience. I ended up being able to find a passion for web development and individual design/experience, and I am excited to state that i am moving forward to carry on employed in that field!
i will be forever grateful for the time i have invested at USC and I also can’t state enough about my own and professional development while i have been right here. The individuals whom work right listed here are superb at whatever they do; you are typical in good arms. It’s particularly inspiring to get results every alongside colleagues who truly care about this work day. They’re colleagues, but i’m honored to also phone them friends.
Finally, it couldn’t be described as a blog post without my typical list. Below are the top 3 things I learned throughout my two and a years that are half USC.

Never Stop Learning
For all of you that are planning to start university, the following four years will be the final time in your lifetime that the task is always to discover. Learning is exactly what you will be doing 24/7. Carry this spirit of learning you have graduated and approach every day knowing that there is always more to learn with you after.

Complimentary Food rocks !
In reality, this is budget advice. I’ve found that I invest probably the most cash on food each month so i usually simply take benefit of free food. The mistake was made by me of using too long to determine just how to monitor my cash. Like John Maxwell stated, ‘Tell your cash where you can get alternatively of wondering where it went.’

Diversity Rules
I really like my workplace for multiple reasons; one of these could be because of the different backgrounds of my colleagues. There is an operating joke into the office that we sometimes look like a United Colors of Benetton ad due to how diverse we are (and we dress ON POINT). But in most severity, being around my colleagues has triggered me personally to understand more about other peoples’ experiences and perspectives. Discover to comprehend the huge benefits of diversity. You’ll be an improved frontrunner, community member, employee, employer, and being that is human.

Well, that’s it for me personally. To my students from Napa, Sonoma, Santa Rosa, Davis and the state of Washington, I am going to miss you dearly during travel period. It is truly been a pleasure serving every body and in the expressed words of Ron Burgundy, ‘Stay classy and thanks for visiting.’

I now hand you down to your blogger that is new and colleague, the hostest with all the mostest, Sam Schreiber.

Hey everyone else!My title is Sam and we am so excited to be joining the USC Admission Blog! I been working in the office for very nearly four years now and also have worked with Houston, Austin, San Antonio therefore the coast that is central of since I began. I am from SoCal and attended Calabasas highschool before you go to Nashville, TN for college. At Vanderbilt, we twice majored in Spanish and psychology and then came back to Los Angeles and did a masters in social work only at USC.

I became really involved with the admission office at Vandy (that is exactly what the kids that are cool it, I promise), and dabbled in graduate school as well, so pursuing college admissions as a lifetime career ended up being constantly on my mind. Along with having the capability to try out a part in degree by having a great group of peers, I enjoy using prospective and current pupils. My theory is I stopped growing up at around age 16, however it is kids that are also possible times are simply super cool.

I really hope to bring a reputable and authentic perspective towards the admission blog and help people see your admission counselors actually are simply like you, whoever you are. I’ve no doubt that whatever topics We cover you will have individual anecdotes thrown in there (and probably cat pictures) but also wish to provide insight into exactly what is a very process that is human. Thanks for reading!
